Union Avenue are playing a short tour of Russia during November. This should be an amazing experience. This will be the first time that Paul has played in a former eastern bloc country since the Radium Cats toured Romania in the late 80's just two weeks after the revolution which saw the former leader Nicolae Ceausescu deposed from power.

Paul has been kept very busy recently writing some new songs for the new Hi-Voltage album and arranging the new material for the upcoming Union Avenue album of songs from Quentin Tarantino films entitled "Sing Quentin". He has also been into the studio for his first solo album "Night Of 1000 Guitars" which is due out in the summer of 2007.

Hi-Voltage are just back from playing a few gigs in England. They were joined on stage at Grantham by Elvis stylist, Travis Lledoyt.

Union Avenue recently performed a 'live' session for a special edition of the Ralph McLean's country show on BBC radio Ulster. The show was dedicated to the late Johnny Cash and was recorded live from the Open House Festival in Belfast. Vic Galloway show on BBC Radio Scotland.

Hi-Voltage and Union Avenue were in Finland recently, where they played at the 78th annual Jamboree festival.
It is one of the rare gigs that the two bands have played together. The other was recent rocking gig in Lowton. Which received a fantastic review in the November edition of 'Play' magazine. (Available from Sound Control music stores)

The new Union Avenue album "Now here's... Union Avenue" was released a few months ago and is selling well. It is a particular favourite in London right now thanks to Mouse giving it a regular spin at the Elephant's Head in Camden.

This months chord, which is a version of G9, is is used a lot in 1940's jump blues and blues. Try starting a song in G, beginning with a standard blues style fun up from D7 to C7 then hit this baby instead of a normal G. Instant T-bone Walker. Rockabillies also dig this chord. Brian Setzer used to use it a lot during the early eighties with the Stray Cats. It crops up in "Fishnet Stockings" during the solos and lots of songs in their live sets. I think it was whenever Brian decided to jump about like crazy on stage, he'd hit this chord and whammy it to death.
